RRNT Logo Wins International Award

September 21, 2022

A logo redesign for Red River North Tourism has led to international recognition at the 2022 Summit Creative Award competition. More than 3400 submissions from 19 countries were adjudicated and the creative work developed for Red River North Tourism (top of page) was awarded Silver in the Logo Redesign category. This international Award celebrates the creative achievements of small and mediumsized design firms worldwide and is firmly established as the premier arbiter of creative excellence.

Earlier this year, Red River North Tourism engaged graphic designer Stephen Boyd to address a shortcoming in their logo. “There are a number of organizations in our area with Red River North in the name.” pointed out Lois Wales, RRNT President. “While we liked the old logo, it lacked that important word ‘Tourism’ which is what we are all about. Our organization has grown in stature, and we knew this was the appropriate time to address redesign of the logo.” she continued. “We were thrilled with the creative Stephen presented us, and ecstatic that it is honoured with this prestigious award. It is a coveted honour and our thanks and congratulations go to him for his outstanding work.”

Entries are judged against a stringent set of standards. The Board of Judges searches for innovative and creative concepts, strong execution, user experience, and the ability to communicate and persuade. This year's judging panel included professionals from Australia, Bulgaria, Canada, Germany, India, Italy, Russian Federation, Sweden, Taiwan, the United Kingdom, and the United States. On the panel for this award were: Jeff Fisher LogoMotives, Pixel & iCe, The Community Miami, 7 Design Studio, SQUARED STUDIO, Bri agency, Amazon, SAVR, NETFLIX, Abi Media Holdings, and Saatchi & Saatchi.

“Winning at the Summits is a significant accomplishment in anyone’s career. The judging criteria is strict and the competition worldwide.” said Boyd. “You never win an award like this by yourself. It is always the projects that are created out of partnership that truly stand above. I couldn’t be happier.”

The 2022 creative competition included designs from the following 19 countries: Australia, Austria, Canada, Denmark, Germany, Hong Kong, India, Jamaica, Republic of Korea, Mexico, Pakistan, Puerto Rico, South Africa, Spain, Taiwan, Turkey, United Arab Emirates, United Kingdom, and the United States.

This award marks Boyd’s 30th recognition in his career as a graphic designer.
