Celebrate Canada Day with your family and friends in the RM of St. Andrews, RM of St. Clements, and the City of Selkirk! Here’s a list of all the free events and activities happening across the region.
Canada Day at the Selkirk Waterfront
The City of Selkirk is the place to be this Canada Day, offering a full day of fun, culture, and entertainment for all ages. Don’t forget to stay for the most spectacular fireworks display in the Interlake!
Festivities kick off with the Kids Zone from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. You’ll find family-friendly activities like Kurrent Motion’s Hula Hoop Jam, glitter tattoos, Mr. Circus, outdoor games, and more. Browse the Makers’ Market hosted by Bud & Bloom, featuring over 20 local vendors.
Live entertainment starts at 6 p.m. with Notre Dame, followed by The Stanley County Cutups at 7:15 p.m., Heartbreaker at 8:30 p.m., and Men in Kilts at 10 p.m.
Then at 11 p.m., get ready for the best firework show in the Interlake to light up the sky over the Red River. Bring a blanket or lawn chairs and enjoy the show!

Canada Day at Lower Fort Garry
Immerse yourself in Canadian history this Canada Day at Lower Fort Garry National Historic Site with activities for the whole family!
Admission is free on Canada Day, offering the perfect chance to explore the site’s historic buildings and engaging demonstrations, including NWMP drills, Treaty Tiles, and a historic weapons display within the fort walls.
Visitors can enjoy croquet, face painting, and colouring activities suitable for all ages. For those looking for a hands-on experience, candle making and bannock making will be available throughout the day.

Canada Day Car Show
Come on down and celebrate Canada Day with the Grand Marais Community Central at their annual Canada Day Car Show Celebration! Take a stroll through the rows of stunning classic and vintage cars, snap some photos, and be sure to cast your vote for the “Best in Class” vehicle.
While you're there, check out over 15 local vendors and grab a bite to eat as they’ll be serving up hamburgers, hot dogs, and drinks. There’ll also be music playing throughout the day, T-shirts for sale, and a 50/50 draw for a chance to win big!
Admission is free for both exhibitors and spectators, so bring the whole family for a fun afternoon!

Dunnottar Canada Day Parade
Celebrate Canada Day in the Village of Dunnottar with their annual Canada Day Parade!
Festivities begin with parade marshalling at 9:30 a.m. between Central Avenue and Railway, followed by the parade officially starting at 10:00 a.m. The route is approximately a 2 km loop, beginning and ending at the Ponemah Beach Central Art Centre (PBC). Show your Canadian pride by wearing red and white!
After the parade, join the community celebration at the PBC with free cake and a chance to purchase tickets for fantastic silent auction prizes.
While you’re in Dunnottar, explore all the village has to offer. Visit the Dunnottar Station Museum for a dose of local history, wander through the beautiful Butterflyway Garden, and snap a photo at one of the iconic piers along the shoreline of Lake Winnipeg.

Matlock Canada Day Celebrations
The Matlock Recreation Club is kicking Canada Day off with a bang! Enjoy live music from MRC Jammers, family games, complimentary cake, and a BBQ lunch.
Kids can look forward to a variety of activities, including free face painting, kiddie scrambles, a bouncy castle with a slide, a foam bubble machine, axe throwing game, giant Connect 4, and so much more! It’s the perfect way to spend an afternoon with family and friends!

Grand Marais Canada Day Celebrations
The Grand Marais Rec Centre has a full lineup of Canada Day festivities the whole family can enjoy.
Kick off the morning with a yummy pancake breakfast (additional fee), and then let the fun begin! There will be a wide variety of activities, including multiple bouncy castles with slides, yard games, bubble soccer, and so much more.
Enjoy complimentary cake and enter their free draw for a chance to walk away with some awesome prizes.
Cap off the day with a huge firework show at 10:30 p.m. Don’t forget to bring a blanket or lawn chair to enjoy the show!

Canada Day at the Marsh
Celebrate Canada Day with a visit to Oak Hammock Marsh Wetland Discovery Centre!
Experience their brand-new interactive exhibits, enjoy nature-themed movies, and keep the little ones entertained with free crafts and face painting (included in admission). Head up to the rooftop observation deck for panoramic views and try spotting as many bird species as you can!
There are plenty of ways to explore the marsh, walk their scenic trails, or for a closer look, rent a bicycle or canoe to experience the lesser known parts of Oak Hammock Marsh (Additional fees apply for rentals.)

Special Mention: Summer Kick Off Market
The St. Andrews Heritage Centre is kicking off summer with an outdoor market featuring over 30 talented artisans.
Throughout the day, a variety of yard games will be available for all ages, including axe throwing, giant Jenga, tug-of-war, and more. Let the kids get creative at the outdoor craft station!
Explore the museum and get a free historical tour of the Rectory from one of their knowledgeable summer staff and learn about the red river settlement!
From 12:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m., the Winnipeg Pet Rescue will be on site with adoptable pets searching for their forever homes.
