Gaynor Family Library Urban Prairie Garden
Behind the Gaynor Family Library, a hidden gem awaits—three acres of urban prairie habitat. This natural space is home to over fifty native grass and flowering plant species, reflecting the beauty and biodiversity of Manitoba’s endangered tall grass prairie ecosystem.
A winding walking path with interpretive signage offers insight into this endangered ecosystem and plant identification signs highlighting some of the native grasses.
In the middle of the urban prairie habitat, you’ll find a mural honouring Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women and Girls.
