Little Lake Park
Little Lake Park, located at the east end of Dorchester Avenue, is a hidden gem that offers a lush green escape during the summer months, showcasing over 100 species of plants. Much of the park remains in its natural state, featuring trails and informal walkways that invite visitors to explore. Interpretive signage along the way highlights the park’s unique ecological features, making it an educational and serene retreat.
Designated as a Provincially Significant Ecological Area in 1991, Little Lake Park is home to one of Manitoba’s rare river-bottom forests. These ecosystems, once common along waterways, have largely disappeared due to development over the past century. The park preserves this special habitat, with its towering trees and diverse understory, providing visitors with a glimpse into a vital and beautiful piece of Manitoba’s natural history.
