Meetings

Learn from fellow gardeners!

The Selkirk & District Horticultural Society meets on the third Tuesday of the Month (except June, July, and December) at the Selkirk United Church Hall, 202 McLean Avenue in Selkirk at 7:00 p.m. Meetings start at 7:00 p.m. sharp and run for about 2 hours: a 7:00-7:40 business meeting is followed by a refreshment break, with our Guest Speaker commencing around 8:00.

Non members are welcome to attend up to two meetings without charge, but must decide whether they want to join SDHS. For more information about SDHS membership click here!

The SDHS strives to promote expert speakers (7 times per year) on topics of interest to the gardening community. We usually have two social gatherings in June and November, as well as scheduled garden tours in July and occasional workshops throughout the year.

Our presentations have covered topics such as the successful cultivation of coleuses, plant propagation, planning a natural garden landscape with native plants, growing haskap shurubs, hydrangeas, and preparing your the body for gardening.
