Free Winter Experiences

  • Try out a variety of winter equipment and games for free! Go outside and have some fun! Hours of operation and rules for the winter library can be found here.

    Located at the Kin Centre in Selkirk.

  • Borrow, play, and return one of the many sleds available at Little Lake Park. The sled storage bin ariety of different toboggan sleds to use. It’s free to use and no registration required.

    The sled bin is to available until spring or till it's no longer safe to sled.

  • Manitoba's Free Family Fishing Weekends (typically in June and February) allow residents and visitors to fish in provincial waters without a license!

    • 4 inches (10 cm): Safe for walking, angling, and skating.

    • 5 inches (12 cm): Safe for ATV or snowmobile.

    • 8-12 inches (20-30 cm): Safe for car or light truck.

    • 12-15 inches (30-38 cm): Safe for medium truck/SUV.

    These conditions generally arrive in early-to-mid December (weather dependent), but you must always verify the ice thickness by checking directly. Stay ice safe!
